First question: How are the dead raised? (15:35-41)

• The first step toward resurrection is physical death (15:35-36)

• The glorified body will be distinctly different from our present earthly body (15:37)

• Neither the seed itself nor the power provide the new body (15:38)

• The resurrection body will be perfectly adapted to its surroundings (15:39-41): 1) The analogy from the animal world (v. 39); 2) The analogy from the celestial world (vv. 40-41)

Second question: With what kind of body do they come? (15:42-49)

• The resurrection body (15:42-44): 1) The nature of the resurrection body (v. 42); 2) The glory of the resurrection body (v. 43a); 3) The power of the resurrection body (v. 43b); 4) The adaption of the resurrection body (v. 44): a) Natural body—back to Adam. b) Spiritual body.

• The precursor of the resurrection body (15:45-49)

Spiritual body? (v. 44)

• Does not preclude most of the properties of our natural body (we know this by the post resurrection appearances of Christ): 1) Our bodies will be like His, Philippians 3:20-21; 2) He had the power of language, Luke 24:44-45; 3) He had the power of reason, Luke 24:27; 4) The parts of His resurrection body were the same as His earthly body, John 20:20; 5) He was physically recognizable in His resurrection body.

• The spiritual body is adapted to the environment of heaven

Second Law of Thermodynamics: Every system let to its own devices always moves from order to disorder; its energy moves to less and less availability, which allows for no further work. [Around 1850, Rudolf Clausius and William Thomson (Kelvin) stated the Second Law of Thermodynamics].
