1. Miracles Means “powers.”

1411 δύναμις [dunamis /doo·nam·is/] n f.

From 1410; TDNT 2:284; TDNTA 186; GK 1539; 120 occurrences; AV translates as “power” 77 times, “mighty work” 11 times, “strength” seven times, “miracle” seven times, “might” four times, “virtue” three times, “mighty” twice, and translated miscellaneously nine times. 1 strength power, ability.

1A inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth.

1B power for performing miracles.

1C moral power and excellence of soul.

1D the power and influence which belong to riches and wealth.

1E power and resources arising from numbers.

1F power consisting in or resting upon armies, forces, hosts.

2. The Powers accompany the Message.

If we

have no message we have no need for power.

why do we not see more of this.

Please pause for a moment for effect.

Because we are not Disciples.

We are fans, tasters, not disciples.

there are so many people in the body of Christ that never get past a better life now and going to heaven that they don't realize not only do they have a part to play it is actually part of there christian life.

3. Its about power not parlor tricks.

the power we are talking about should establish the message, not simply improve the quality of life for the saints.

i’m not implying that the saints don’t need miracles as well, just that they are for a church on the move.

not a church in a rut

Jesus was attested to by signs and wonders.

Peter attested to the Miracles that Jesus did:

The Miracles that the Apostles did attested to the reality of Jesus.
