What Have we been Talking about?

A church that knows how to honor one another is a church can host the presence of God. Without honor there is no habitation of Him.
When we pursue honor then it will expose what is in our heart. You can’t honor someone if your heart is not right.

What would you do?

Share the story out of the Unpunishable book
I can tell you that I wold not have done the same thing that Danny Silk did, but I would not have gotten the same results that Danny did either.
I would have tried to punish this person rather than simply discipline them.
Discipline means to teach, to lead them to repentance.

Jesus had a similar story

How do you think we would have responded today if we were Jesus?
Do you think we would have told her accusers to go away?
This story has always troubled me because there had to be more to the story.
Jesus forgave her, but she never even asked Him to.
Jesus saved this women’s life!

Our Heart has to Change

I know that this way of doing this is probably new to you, I know it was me when I first saw this.
We need to see the error of our ways and repent.
Our church should be a place where people can healed of their messes, not be condemned because of there messes.
Our church should be a place where people can be vulnerable about what they are going through.
No we don’t have to announce it to the world, but sometimes when you live in a small town it happens.

Can we make a commitment to be a church that allows messes?

We can be a church whose share the heart of Jesus with others, who forgives like Jesus, and leads people to repentance like Jesus!
