Sex is one of the hottest commodities on the market today. Its promoted in what we wear, what we watch, and what we learn. As a matter of fact in most cases, if something doesn’t have some kind of sex appeal, we don’t want it.
Society has began to promote sex in ways that were despicable just twenty years ago. Because of this, we are tempted on so many ways when it comes to sex. We church must understand that what happens in our society will eventually impact the church sooner or later.
I know we try to keep the subject of sex private, but the ways of the world and the world of God demand that the church not be silent on this God ordained and world perverted subject.
This is the situation that church in Corinth is facing as Paul answers their question on this subject. Paul has just addressed an issue brought to him concerning sexual immorality. He is now answering one several questions raised in this letter. He addresses questions concerning spiritual gifts, marriage, food offered to idols and the resurrection.
Here is his answer to the church

Living Under Control or Living With Commitment V. 1-2

Celibacy and Marriage Are Both Good, But Not For Everyone V. 1-2

You’re Mine and I’m Yours

Married Couples Have Mutual Sexual Responsibility To One Another V. 3-4

Couples Don’t Deprive, They Agree V. 5

Paul instructs the married on abstaining from sex.
You cannot withhold for the wrong reasons.

Stay Single If You Can, Marry If You Can’t V. 6-9

It takes a special gift to live single and celibate.
Sex is a good thing when its done according to God’s design and purpose.
So, I encourage to do it according to God’s design.
If you’re single and enjoy devoting your time and talent to Lord and you can control your sexual appetite, STAY SINGLE and FREE.
But if lust has set you on fire, get married!
And if anybody ask you why you got married, tell them I fell in love, so I could fall out of lust.
God is concerned about your sex life too! If He didn’t care, He would have never created us this way.
