The Will of God

Does it matter how we live our lives on earth? What is the goal of our life as a Christian?

The goal should be that we would seek out the will of God and then purpose to do it.

God has a plan for each of our lives and to follow His plan will guarantee that our life has the greatest possible impact for the cause of Christ.

It is God’s will that every man:

Would be saved-

Would live a holy life-

Be grateful-

How do we know what God’s will is?

- we all have a purpose

Ask Him- &

We ought to ask the Lord to reveal His will to us as we pray and study the Word of God.

God may not give you the entire plan up front-

God did not tell Paul His entire plan but instead gave him one step.

God often reveals His will to us one step at a time.

This was true for Paul throughout his life.

Does God’s will always bring blessing?

At times it will but at times it may instead bring suffering. (The prosperity gospel is a lie contradictory to a number of scriptural examples)

&

- in the end to do God’s will we must first be willing to deny doing our own will.

We can live our lives according to our plan but in doing so we can be sure that we will miss the will of God and in eternity as we stand before God our lives will count for nothing.

- we will all give account at judgement seat of Christ.
