Intro

(walk up with role of drawings) Blueprints: Drafting has been around for a long time, and although it has changed much from our earlist fossilized example of a castle in babalyon in over 4000 years ago, we understanding that the need for an architect to bring his ideas, his plans and designs from his head to paper so that it can be built.

when we look at a set of drawlings however it is still difficult for us to really understand what it is that the designer is going for (show some of details) and simply looking at the big picture does not allow us to make any progress nor does looking at a detail that is blown up. -INSERT denfinations from text book-
