A HEALTHY PLAN FOR HAPPINESS
A glad heart makes a happy face; a broken heart crushes the spirit. A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash. For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast.
PLANNING FOR HAPPINESS.
HAPPINESS IS NOT AUTOMATIC.
YOUR ATTITUDE DETERMINES YOUR ALTITUDE. (v. 13)
YOUR FOCUS DETERMINES YOUR DESTINATION.
THINK BIBLICALLY ABOUT HAPPINESS.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
In Christ:
a. The price for your happiness: PAID.
B. The basis for your happiness: SECURED.
C. THE RESOURCES FOR YOUR HAPPINESS PROVIDED.
D. THE ASSURANCE FOR YOUR ETERNAL HAPPINESS: ABSOLUTE.
3. TRAIN YOURSELF TO DO WHAT HAPPY PEOPLE DO AND DON’T DO. (V. 14)
A. AVOID LIVING IN THE PAST.
B. AVOID SUSPICION AND RESENTMENT.
C. STOP FIGHTING CONDITIONS THAT CAN’T BE CHANGED.
D. SHOW UP IN LIFE AND BE INVOLVED WITH OTHERS.
E. STOP THE PITY PARTIES.
F. DEVELOP VIRTUES. GAL. 5:22-23
G. EXPECT TO EXPERIENCE GOD IN HIS WORD AND WORSHIP.
