Revelation 1:4–8 NASB95
4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace, from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood— 6 and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7 Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

The last couple week I've been talking about the ability of the Holy Spirit and the promise God give us.
Who is this man..
And what does his return mean for me.
and the promise God give us.
AW Tozer says
You shall receive power. Strength or ability to do so.
What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us
To be my witness. to witness or be effective
Yes, we talk last week about that the reality of eternity is.
The devil doesn't have to cut your hands off to stop you from laying hands on the sick
hands on the sick
Not death or even heaven but rather it is the Knowing of God.
Does have to kill you to stop you from doing what God has called you to do. He just has to get you to stop dreaming
I was talking to one of my sweet youth once and they asked me

One of the most dangerous things to the devil is a man or woman. That has a dream.

It doesn’t matter if you understand it right now
T.E. Lawrence once said, "All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds awake to the day to find it was all vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for the many act out their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible..."

He adds, Jesus was not worried and stress about all that going around Him. He went around preaching and healing the sick and bringing the kingdom.

Hebrews 12:1–3 NASB95
1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
By our faith hopes and dreams the Holy Spirit is able to release and give
strength and power to the believer

No I am telling you today that we need the Holy Spirit
I said last week that no one has ever converted anyone from sinner to

We cant be tangled up if we are going to run the race to the end
And notice what he says next
Let me say this 1st
You can be filled with the Holy Spirit
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Look at Luke
Fix/focus our eyes or attention on Jesus and follow His example

I can have the Holy Spirit because God is good.
Then he says remember lots wife.
Chapter 15 of john say abide.
He says
Luke 17:27–28 NASB95
27 they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 “It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;
he points of the activity of the day to come but then tells them to look back and remember Lots wife.
How will we abide in him?
(NASB95)
By the spirit remember for God is a spirit and those who worship him
27 they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

he points of the activity of the day to come but then tells them to look back and remember Lots wife.
Then it says if we abide we will bear fruits what are those fruits called.
(NASB95)
Galatians calls them the fruit of the spirit.
Abiding in God produces His fruits and his presence and in his presence
26 But his wife, from behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.
But Lots wife, from behind him
there is fullness of Joy…
I want to say this that though Lot was a man, he himself was a righteous man.
Then it says abide in love ill let 1john 4:12-13 handle this question.
And she was joined to this man which says something about her salvation.

abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
But the 1st problem I see is that she was behind the one that she should have been running along side of.
What happens to those who do not abide
And from behind she heard the roaring and the chaos and she took her eyes off the prize of salvation and she turn to a pillar of salt.

Why do we ignore the important if the Holy Spirit in our every day lives.
then he ask, “shall we not adore him for this?”
I want to jump to talking about the fear of The Lord

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my

in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
Philippian 2
That’s why David says whom shall I fear? Whom shall I be
afraid?
I fear separation and disconnection. I fear distance
John Beaver says
“before discussing the fear of the Lord, we must capture a
glimpse of the greatness and glory of the God we serve.
For who in the heavens can be compared to the Lord?
Who among the sons of the mighty can be likened to the
Lord?
God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints,
And to be held in reverence by all those around Him.
John than ask the question
For how can we duly respect and honor Him if we remain unaware of His
greatness, or why He deserve it?
In The Chronicles of Narnia, an allegory by C.S. Lewis, the author has two
girls, Susan and Lucy, getting ready to meet Aslan the lion, who
represents Christ. Two talking animals, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, prepare the
children for the encounter. "Ooh," said Susan, "I though he was a man. Is
he quite safe? I shall feel rather nervous about meeting a lion." "That you
will, dearie." said Mrs. Beaver. "And make no mistake, if there's anyone
who can appear before Aslan without their knee's knocking, they're either
braver than most or else just silly."
"Then isn't he safe?" said Lucy. "Safe?" said Mr. Beaver. "Don't you hear
what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? Of course he
isn't safe. But he's good. He's the king, I tell you!"
notice psalm's he is great to be feared and held in reverence.
Now hold on I'm gonna try to make since with all of this
I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I
shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My
flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will
You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of
life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures
forevermore. ( NKJV)
In your presence
Look with me at psalms 51
Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy
Spirit from me. ( NKJV)
Notice the connection between being cast from his presence from being
disconnected from the Holy Spirit
For the Christ it's a fearsome thing to disconnected from the Holy Spirit
I know brother derrick David didn't have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit
Instead the new testimony church has the high obligation not to grieve the
gift of the Holy Spirit
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for
the day of redemption. ( NKJV)
What could grieve the Holy Spirit
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away
from you, with all malice. ( NKJV)
Look at the next verse
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as
God in Christ forgave you. ( NKJV)
Holy Spirit we need you and we reverence you presence and long for you
nearness
And we fear grieving or being disconnected from you.
