My son, attend to my words;
is God's prescription for total well-being; both mental and physical. If I take enough of God's Word long enough, I will be healed! God's Word is medicine to all my flesh (v. 22).I am the Lord that Healeth Thee
Psalm
Psalm 91:14–16 KJV 1900
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, And shew him my salvation.
Ps 91:
Psalm 91:14–16 The Message
14 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God, “I’ll get you out of any trouble. I’ll give you the best of care if you’ll only get to know and trust me. 15 Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times; I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party. 16 I’ll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation!”
: 15Because he hath known my name! He knows me! He is in a blood covenant with me! This is the word of God to us! Remember one of His names is Jehovah Rapha - I am the Lord that healeth thee!
Exodus 15:26 KJV 1900
26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
Exodus
The Word of the Lord
Psalm 91:14–16 AMP
14 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never]. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.
The Word of the Lord
The psalm concludes with the Lord assuring the psalmist that . . .
He delivers his people (v. 14),
He hears and answers their prayers (v. 15),
He blesses them with his presence (v. 15),
He satisfies them with long life (v. 16); and
He shows them his salvation (v. 16).

How should we approach healing?

We should always remember “God Wants You Well!” My attitude should be one of health and healing! As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he! Healing is my right! Healing is my inheritance!
5 - By His stripes I am healed!
- by His stripes I was healed!
- He sent His word and healed them (me)!

Ways health and healing take place in our bodies

1. By the natural process of the body - with or without medical assistance

The body itself is designed to fight sickness. Even in our fallen condition the body is still able to fight off sickness! We are marvelously designed! This fact alone should tell us that God wants us well! He designed our body to be well! The body is an organism that can defeat other organisms. Use common sense! Medicine doesn’t heal us but it does create an environment where the body can heal itself! Doctors are here to help us.

Doctors are limited - God is unlimited!
God wants us well!
The root Hebrew word for “healed” appears 67 times in the Old Testament.
The root Greek word for “healed” appears 28 times in the New Testament
God wants me well! Sometimes that means I avail the services of the medical profession! I must use common-sense.

2. We can be healed by the word

..
Proverbs 4:20–22 KJV 1900
20 My son, attend to my words; Incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; Keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, And health to all their flesh.
Prov 4:
Proverbs 4:20–22 The Message
20 Dear friend, listen well to my words; tune your ears to my voice. 21 Keep my message in plain view at all times. Concentrate! Learn it by heart! 22 Those who discover these words live, really live; body and soul, they’re bursting with health.
Proverbs 4:20–22 AMP
20 My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. 22 For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.

Use positive confessions . . . Say this . . .
Healing power is at work in me. The Word of God is life to me. It is medicine, healing and health to all my flesh. Healing power is at work in me!
Jesus said . . .
The KJV says they are life to all that FIND them . . . How?
Attend to His words!
Incline my ear to His words.
Let His Words not depart from my eyes!
Keep His Words in the midst of my heart!
His Words are Life to me! Keep seeing His Word. Keep talking His Word! I will find it. His Words are health (medicine) to all my flesh!l Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. () See also ; .
Jesus said . . .
John 6:63 KJV 1900
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
The very nature of the word is life and health! Read the word. Meditate on the word! There is a power there for healing! As you read the word - receive it as health and healing for your body!
The next three ways of receiving healing seem to overlap and it is difficult to see which one is in operation at any particular time. Three things are going on here . . .
Miracle;

4. There is healing by miracles

Gift of healing; and
Gift of faith
These seem to overlap and it is often difficult to see where one is in operation to the exclusion of the other two. Where does one stop and the others begin?4. Look at a classic example recorded in the Book of Acts.
Acts 3
Acts 3:1–8 KJV 1900
1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. 4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
There was a gift of healing as a result of the gift of faith that the man responded to! Which one caused the healing to happen? Probably all of them together! When the gift of faith is released, miracles happen - the gift of healing occurs! There was a reactive faith - the faith of the sick reacts to the faith of the one ministering.Peter had the gift of faith - he had a spontaneous recognition of something that was out of order that God wants to put in order - right now!
There was a miracle;
There was a gift of healing; and
There was faith
These seem to overlap and it is often difficult to see where one is in operation to the exclusion of the other two. Where does one stop and the others begin?
Peter had the gift of faith - he had a spontaneous recognition of something that was out of order that God wants to put in order - right now!
The man was expecting to receive something (he responded - he had reactive faith); and
He received the gift of healing -
It was an obvious miracle!
Which caused the healing to take place?
