INTRODUCTION:
1. With Thanksgiving right around the corner I thought we would reflect on what we have to be thankful for in our lives.
A. No mater where we are in our lives we should give thanks to God.
15 See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thess 5.
1. David said...
1 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. 3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.
Ps 34:1-
A. Today join me as we give thanks to Him, magnify Him, and exalt Him and His holy name together.

2. How do we show our thankfulness to God?

B. As Christians we need to be adults.

1. Adults give thanks to God by being obedient and putting away childish things.
1 Cor 3.1
1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; 3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?
2. A child shows their thankfulness to their parents by understanding that everything they do is for the good of the child.
A. Our obedience to God shows Him we trust Him.
7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
B. We show our thankfulness to God by loving Him.
15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
C. We show our thankfulness to God by living the way He tells us in His Word.
17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
CONCLUSION:
1.God’s grace should cause us to be thankful.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.
A. Let’s stop fighting God and be thankful for the awesome parenting of God.
1. Lets stop being children who rebel against the rules of a parent and show God we are truly thankful for His love.
A. Let thanksgiving abound because of God’s grace but let us not use His wonderful grace as an opportunity to sin but to give thanks to Him by obedience.
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
