You must come to face to face with your badness, if you will appreciate the beating of Christ.

Forces us to see God’s holiness as greater than any thoughts of the goodness of our children.Forces us to recognize in ourselves and in our children the human corrupt condition.Forces us to consider the temporal discipline in light of the eternal weight of what Christ went through. Forces us to make a faith choice between the wisdom of Christ and the material world or fallen maternal instincts.
