INTRODUCTION:

In an unfaithful day with so many who would lead us astray how can we stay faithful in contending?
Is Our Grip strong enough as the deception grows?
Jude finishes this letter with a Benediction of Praise to the Only True God!
We remain because of Him!
My prayer is that we will put our eyes on God and rest in his power and goodness for His glory in and through our lives!
Let’s look at two realities that assure us of victory as we contend for the faith!

I. THE ABILITY OF GOD (24)

A. God is Able to Make Us Secure

Now To Him :
The Focus is no longer on the Apostates or us — It is on him (God)
Our ability to contend is completely dependent on God!
Who is Able - (pres. mid. part.) to possess the capability for experiencing or doing something
To protect you from Stumbling - (aor. act. inf.) to protect by taking careful measures
lit. to give sure footing
Stumbling how? From stumbling into false doctrine and the sin it promotes!
How can I be sure that I am not going to be an apostate?
Keep yourself in the love of God through obedience to the Scriptures and prayer and trust God!
He is the one who is keeping us for Christ Jesus (1) Knowing that you are loved by God (1)!
Know that God will not let you fall away from Him! ( - In his hand and cannot be plucked out)
God will discipline us to keep us on good footing but he will not forsake us ()
35 “I am the bread of life,” Jesus told them. “No one who comes to me will ever be hungry, and no one who believes in me will ever be thirsty again. 36 But as I told you, you’ve seen me, and yet you do not believe. 37 Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me. 39 This is the will of him who sent me: that I should lose none of those he has given me but should raise them up on the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him will have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

B. God is Able to Make Us Stand

Make you stand - (aor. act. infin.) to cause to be in a place of position, to set or place
In the presence of his glory - to be in the same place as his radiance
You will be in the same place as Jesus —
He is able to make you stand there!
Who can stand their - those with clean hands and a pure heart: 4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not appealed to what is false, and who has not sworn deceitfully.
Who is such a person? We have wicked hearts (Jeremiah ) and there is none righteous (Roman 3:10)?
Those who have been washed in the blood of Jesus who have been made the righteousness of God ()
Without Spot or Blemish:
Points to an acceptable sacrifice!
God does his amazing work of grace in us and makes us acceptable!
Through Jesus, we are made spotless and without blemish!
4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared, 5 he saved us—not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy—through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
With Great Joy:
We don’t just survive but we thrive!
6 Then I heard something like the voice of a vast multitude, like the sound of cascading waters, and like the rumbling of loud thunder, saying, Hallelujah, because our Lord God, the Almighty, reigns! 7 Let us be glad, rejoice, and give him glory, because the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his bride has prepared herself. 8 She was given fine linen to wear, bright and pure. For the fine linen represents the righteous acts of the saints.
Ill. Mr. Dale - I saw a giant hand with a baby in it . I kept seeing it and it was as if you could see all the universe. I finally understood I was the baby and I wasn’t in control but God was holding me !

II. The ADORATION DUE GOD (25)

A. He is God Alone

To the Only God:
God has no rival or equal that I should fear or worship but Him alone!
17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

B. He is God Our Savior

Our Savior:
God is the God who saves. He desires to save!
16 For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord :
The Means of our salvation is Jesus and Jesus alone!
God has acted by sending him to save — this is the gospel and there is no other!

C. He is God Forever To Be Praised

Be Glory - (Doxa = doxology) honor and recognition, fame or renown
He alone is God is worthy of all praise from all people!
6 Let everything that breathes praise the Lord. Hallelujah!
We should worship him
Majesty - prominence or greatness
he is great and his greatness should be known - we should stand in awe of him!
Power - Dominion power to rule
Authority - Right to rule
Forever and ever - he will never be voted out or impeached! He is king forever!
We should submit to him!
Trust Him in the midst of what we can’t control knowing he is sovereign in it all!

CONCLUSION:

He is able to keep us!
He is worthy of our faith and worship!
So trust him and worship him in this fallen world! Contend for the Faith
Thank him for his provision and Salvation!
Thank Him for Jesus!
The Lord’s Supper
Worship!
Be Saved!
