Introduction
Whatever said baby being born to Mary was a vital importance.
Because:The baby was:
Jesus
Son of the Most High
The Son of David
The ruler over the house of Israel
The King, whose kingdom would never end
One born of the Holy Spirit
The Son of God Himself
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
THIS IS THE 1ST TESTIMONY EVER GIVEN ABOUT JESUS BIRTH.
I) Elizabeth is Visited by Mary
Mary went with “haste”
which means to hurry, speed, diligence, care, zeal
she went to get encouragement from someone who was going through a similar situation.
God was working miracles for both.
Mary entered the house and 3 supernatural things happened.
The babe leapt
It was proof that the baby Mary carried was special!
He was revealed by the Holy Spirit
Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit
Elizabeth lived a holy life
because of that God was able to use her
Elizabeth spoke with a loud voice!
II) She Proclaims the Greatness of Mary’s Baby
Elizabeth proclaimed 3 things about the baby Jesus
proclamation of praise
the 1st act of Elizabeth was to honor the baby
God would have Jesus honored, just as He was honored in heaven
She proclaimed Mary as blessed, because of the baby she carried
even though Elizabeth was older, and of a higher class
she was not jealous of Mary
Philippians 2:3–4 (CSB)
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.
4 Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
III) She Proclaims Mary’s Baby as Lord
She called the baby “MY LORD”
the Holy Spirit identified the baby as
The Messiah
The Son of God
She was under the control of the Holy Spirit
all she said had to be true
She tells of the sign
the unmistakable sign of the baby leaping
IV) She Proclaims Mary’s Faith Would be Rewarded
Elizabeth claims Mary’s Faith would receive the promise.
Mary has been blessed by believers, since Christ birth:
Because she believed the Word of God (V.
38)
Because Mary was related to Christ in a special way
Purpose:
The same 2 factors apply to our lives.
We must believe the Word of God sent to us.
Luke 11:28 (CSB)
28 He said, “Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.”
b.
We must be related to Christ by adoption into the family of God!
Galatians 4:4–6 (CSB)
4 When the time came to completion, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
5 to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.
6 And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!”
All Christians along with Mary have seen the miracles and blessings of God daily
BECAUSE: we believed in God’s promises, so we are blessed to see them.
