Hats off to Richard Petty, the King of Stock Car Racing.  Over 30 years ago he promised his mother that he would have nothing to do with strong drink and has remained true to his word.  He refused even to place a Busch beer sticker on his race car, thus making the car ineligible for the Busch Pole Award and the annual Busch Clash.  It is possible that he could lose $75,000 as a result.  His STP Pontiac is the only car on the circuit that does not bear the Busch decal.  In this day of compromise, contradiction, and confusion, it is refreshing to see someone stand his ground for principle and truth. - Paul Rogers
