Zechariah
Zechariah 14:17 NKJV
17 And it shall be that whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, on them there will be no rain.

1. The Sovereignty of God is at the core of true worship.

God is sovereign and he says to come and worship me and I will make sure the promised that your promise land is still the land of opportunity.
the word awesome is over used. God is awesome…

my favorite restaurant is awesome

sovereignty. The biblical concept of God’s kingly, supreme rule and legal authority over the entire universe. God’s sovereignty is expressed, exercised and displayed in the divine plan for and outworking of salvation history. Divine sovereignty is emphasized especially in the Augustinian-Calvinist tradition, where it is paradoxically contrasted with human responsibility.

the agrarian culture need the rain to survive.
when the needed the rain.
when they where in Egypt they had foot pumps they had to pump it in to small feilds.
where as Isreal is surrounded by mountains and creeks rivers that rely on rain to keep the land fruitful.

2. Worship means coming to God as a child.

Matthew 18:3 NKJV
3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Children might be shy around people they don't’ know; however, if you watch them in a place where they are their selves, they are so expressive and without fear or judgement.
wheelchair analogy.

3. sometimes God calls us to do things in worship we don’t understand.

1 Corinthians 14:33 NKJV
33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
I don't want this to be used as an excuse for craziness not in order with the Holy Spirit, so, i need to state emphatically, if God leads you to do it, it will be in order when it’s all said and done.

how will I know?

you may not know until after you take the risk, so here are some questions to ask yourself.

Discernment questions I should ask myself before moving forward in a service:

(1) Do people accuse me of being an attention seeker?

many of the people who do crazy things in a service actually believe they are being seen as hard core or deep. Most discerning people can see right through that.
do you think you have been unfairly passed over for promotion and you are trying to move above leadership by showing out.

(2) do you have a spiritual agenda for the Church?

Do you want to see God move in a particular way in the church and are frustrated that it hasn't happened yet.
If you are not in a position to have the delegated authority to effect change be sure your not manipulating for your own purposes.
Matthew 16:18 NKJV
18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

what do i do if I did all that and I was still wrong ?

Receive correction as a son.

Hebrews 12:6 NKJV
6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.”

Back to the Point: 3. sometimes God calls us to do things in worship we don’t understand.

Joshua 3:1–17 NKJV
1 Then Joshua rose early in the morning; and they set out from Acacia Grove and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they crossed over. 2 So it was, after three days, that the officers went through the camp; 3 and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it. 4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.” 5 And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” 6 Then Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over before the people.” So they took up the ark of the covenant and went before the people. 7 And the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. 8 You shall command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, ‘When you have come to the edge of the water of the Jordan, you shall stand in the Jordan.’ ” 9 So Joshua said to the children of Israel, “Come here, and hear the words of the Lord your God.” 10 And Joshua said, “By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that He will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Hivites and the Perizzites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Jebusites: 11 Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is crossing over before you into the Jordan. 12 Now therefore, take for yourselves twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one man from every tribe. 13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come down from upstream, and they shall stand as a heap.” 14 So it was, when the people set out from their camp to cross over the Jordan, with the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people, 15 and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest), 16 that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho. 17 Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.
The Children of Isreal had to step into the waters of the Jordan in faith.
without any proof that God was doing His part or not sometimes we have to fly blind when obeying God.

4. In Order to come up, you have to go down.

1 Peter 5:6–7 NKJV
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
1 Peter 5
Worship does not mean “to lift your hands” that's actually a loose definition of praise.”
there are 12 Hebrew and Greek words translated worship in the bible.
