False Gospels
Jesus and how the world sees him.
Anti Authority age.
As the 20th centenary has moved on.
We have moved on to a more post modern society.
Postmoderns typically reject any sort of foundationalism, i.e.,
the view that some set of ideas, some person(s), some organization(s) are the ultimate reference point against which the truth, power, and authority of all else must be judged.
As a result, we live at a time increasingly characterized by rejection of all authority.
- For many it is unthinkable that any religious belief or book should be the ultimate authority in disputes about anything.
- Just look around us in society today.
The lack of respect for Authority is evident all around us
- Creeping in to the churches.
- freedom and liberty to do what we want with no consequences is starting to echo inside the church not just the lost.
Or the old saying, Jesus didn’t say that directly so it should be ok.
The bible was written in a different time, so none of that part applies to us.
- It is no longer the truth of God but the personal truth that matters.
We take the things in the bible that we like and throw the rest out
there is a push that says that the scripture is a great guide book for our life.
But not one that necessarily has to be followed word for word.
2 Timothy 4:3
We take the things in the bible that we like and throw the rest out
Leaders today
People running for president and other offices of your country.
That salvation is by works.
Not Faith alone.
Claiming that abortions is ok under the bible.
Trying to ok Sin, buy twisting scripture is not ok.
This isn’t just in the political realm though any more.
This is falling in to churches todays as well.
GOSPEL of Religion
Teaches we are saved by our works.
As Long as we do this or that, Jesus will love us.
If you mess up your done.
Dress a certain way.
Read a certain Translation
Stay completely away from culture, or you lose your salvation.
Its always Jesus Plus, Thats the only way to be saved in the Gospel of Religion.
This teaches that we are saved by our works.
If you do this or if you don’t do that then Jesus will love you and save you.
But you gotta be good or the moment you mess up your done.
So they are very strict, very religious.
You have to dress a certain way, read a certain translation of the Bible, abstain from culture totally or you lose your salvation.
It’s Jesus plus something.
What do you think?
Are we saved by our works?
No.
We are saved by grace.
But here’s the tricky part- do we have works to do? Yes.
See.
They get it backwards.
We are saved by grace for good works.
GOSPEL Of Moralism
This one is a big one in your culture today.
We are saved by just being good, decent and moral people.
As long as what you do doesn’t infringe on anyone else, your nice, smile, recycle and just try your best in the end your going to make it
As long as what you do doesn’t infringe on anyone else, your nice, smile, recycle and just try your best in the end your going to make it
As long as what you do doesn’t infringe on anyone else, your nice, smile, recycle and just try your best in the end your going to make it.
As long as what you do doesn’t infringe on anyone else, your nice, smile, recycle and just try your best in the end your going to make it.
Jesus Says in That no one is good except for God.
It doesn’t matter who you are or how “good” you are.
What do you think?
No. See sin is not just what we do but sin is also who we are.
Jesus says – no one is good except God.
So we aren’t saved because we are good but rather because he is.
GOSPEL of Prosperity
This one scares me the most some times.
TV evangelist
tv evangelist
we are saved to be rich, healthy, happy, and whole.
we are saved to be rich, healthy, happy, and whole.
That if we give our lives to Jesus then we will live a blessed, prosperous, and happy life.
That if we give our lives to Jesus then we will live a blessed, prosperous, and happy life.
in order to receive these blessings financially first we must give financially so that God can bless us.
If you are truly saved then you will be free from a life of suffering.
The Problem is, none of this is what Jesus teaches.
Thats not
Jesus was homeless.
And if we are truly saved then we will free from a life of suffering.
What do you guys think?
Is that true?
No.
Didn’t have a lot of money
Was betrayed by his friends and denied by family
O and he died on on a cross.
Sounds like a easy life to me.
If your definition of a gospel is too small to include Jesus.
– you missed it.
– Now are their blessings attached to the gospel.
Absolutely.
Does God provide out of his providence and grace for his children.
Absolutely.
But when you elevate one aspect of God above all others, you miss it.
GOSPEL of Self Help
This teaches that Jesus died to make you the best version of yourself.
That you aren’t really a sinner but you just need a little help.
So here are 7 easy ways to get you back on track to be the winner God made you to be.
How to be more confident
3 things how to be a better parent.
How to get out of debt.
These aren’t bad things by them selfs.
