Thanksgiving 2019
It was Holy occasion, a Holy Day as Jesus and his disciples gathered around a table.
14 And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. 15 And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16 For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”
This was the day that Jesus would connect the dots from the old to the new. I am your Passover lamb.
Yet it was sweet time but also a heavy time; there was the fellowship of his brothers but a bitter cup to drink.
Maybe tomorrow will be like that for you.
It is a sweet time with those we love to have but also a maybe a little bitter as we remember those who are not around the table.
Jesus gave his disciples a promise. Because I am going to be your Passover lamb, one day I will gather all my family around the table of my presence and there we will ever be with our Lord and each other.
6 Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out,
“Hallelujah!
For the Lord our God
the Almighty reigns.
7 Let us rejoice and exult
and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and his Bride has made herself ready;
8 it was granted her to clothe herself
with fine linen, bright and pure”—
for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.
9 And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”
