How to establish a thankful Heart.

Today I want to talk to you about your heart some of you were here last week and I shared the encounter I had with the Lord. Today i want to ask you again to open your heart to the word of God and it come in and live in your heart. I as a Christian no longer desire to live my life as ungrateful. I have learned throughout the coarse of my journey to be thankful. When I was away on my trip, I didnt have my wife, children, brothers and sisters or any of my church family, I missed you all greatly! Why do we have have something taken from us in order to appreciated it and be thankful? We take for granted the great things God has given us. (For instance we walk outside and see the beauty of Gods painting everyday, but what if we lost our sight)? The same with a leg or an arm or maybe a loved one. We waste precious time in trying to get our way in life and loose site of what we have. Having your heart established with thankfulness brings so much peace and removes so much regret. It helps you not be so critical and judgmental towards others especially those in your household. Patience and good health are among the rewards of a thankful heart.
Thankfulness: Being conscience of benefits recieved. Expressive of thanks.well pleased. In .

Jesus Cleanses Ten Lepers

11 On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance 13 and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” 14 When he saw them he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. 15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; 16 and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. 17 Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? 18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”

1.) Remembering Gods goodness.
The Lord always brought up to the children of Israel what He did for them in Egypt. Always! Why? He wanted them to remember if He did it then He would do it now. He is the same yesterday, and forever! When I was away I thought about our church, I thought about how much love is here! Theres love in this place. I remembered all the good things that God has done in us and through us and its not over!
There are times when we are tempted to fear and be afraid when we are facing Giants. David remembered Lion and the Bear.
“If you say in your heart, ‘These nations are greater than I. How can I dispossess them?’ 18 you shall not be afraid of them but you shall remember what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt, 19 the great trials that your eyes saw, the signs, the wonders, the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, by which the LORD your God brought you out. So will the LORD your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid

2.) Serving
To answer the question, “what does it mean to have a servant heart,” we must first learn what a servant is. A servant is a person who meets the needs of others. A servant is an individual who puts themselves under submission to another. A servant is different from a slave in that a servant’s loyalty to one’s master is voluntary, but a slave’s is not. Every slave is a servant, but not every servant is a slave.
In Christianity, we are called first to submit to God, then to one another.
When I stayed with my friend, she had such a beautiful servant heart. She served selflessly, humbly. She gave of herself without expecting anything in return. She loved God and wanted to bless me with the overflow of that love. It left me wondering, how well do I serve others and what do I use as my guide?
Jesus-Joseph (serve your way out)-serve the Lord with Gladness not sadness-

If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.” 36

6-28 But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, 28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

3.) Giving
34 You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me. 35 In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

26  All day long he craves and craves,
but the righteous gives and does not hold back.
