Introduction

Good morning!
Wel
How is everybody?
Just in case we haven’t greeted each other yet, let’s all greet one another, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!
So, why do we celebrate Thanksgiving?
In the history of the USA, the very reason why they celebrated the first Thanksgiving is because of the bountiful harvest that they have. And if you google it, the early settlers in this nation gave thanks to the Lord who gave all the blessings they have.
William Bradford, a leader of the early colony wrote:
They began now to gather in the small harvest they had, and to fit up their houses and dwellings against winter, being all well recovered in health and strength and had all things in good plenty
Blessings of having a house to stay during the winter, blessings of have recovered in health and strength and blessings of having all that they need.
So celebrating Thanksgiving day is always linked together with the truth about the Giver, the Blesser - which is our Lord. AMEN
It is always about Him and because of Him. And no one can not and should not deny that truth.
Romans 1:19–20 NLT
19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Psalm 19:1 NLT
1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.
Ps 19:
So the truth about who God, is already out there. And not only out there but “in here”, (point to your heart)
God is good?
And all the time?
So we answer to that statement because in here (point to your heart) we always experience what He has done to us.
Look, let’s do this, in one word, why do you thank the Lord?
And we know this how? Through our faith. Because the expression of gratitude is tied so closely to the response of faith.
That’s why Paul in his letters, encourages all believers to give thanks in all things.
Romans 14:6 NLT
6 Those who worship the Lord on a special day do it to honor him. Those who eat any kind of food do so to honor the Lord, since they give thanks to God before eating. And those who refuse to eat certain foods also want to please the Lord and give thanks to God.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT
18 Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
Eph 5
Ephesians 5:20 NLT
20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In his teaching on how to celebrate the Lord’s Supper, Paul specified that Christians should give thanks, just as the Lord “had given thanks”

1 Corinthians 11:24 NLT
24 and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
