oh taste and see that the Lord is good. The psalmist invites us to try God with proven results. This invitation comes with a guarantee. Oh taste and see that the Lord is Good. And not only that Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. This translate to have trust in him.
The proverb writer says Trust in the Lord with all your hearts and lean not to your own understanding and he will direct your path.
This Psalm is one of 14 psalms that are tied to an historical moment in David’s life. Many people don’t realize but this psalm was birthed out of a stressful situation. David writes this when he changed his behavior before Abimelech. . He literally acted crazy which caused the King to leave David alone.
Have you ever been in a tight situation and the Lord gave you a plan of escape? This would be your time to do as David does. He opens this psalm with these words I will bless the LORD at all times;
I will bless the LORD at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth. This declaration of praise is a theme for every saint. How many of you can bless (Praise) the Lord at all times? Yes good times your praise Him bad times You Praise Him. Uncertain times you praise Him. This bless the Lord does wonders for us and for those around us. David realize if he could praise God in his most difficult moments it would bless someone else. Verse 2 says my soul makes its boast in the Lord let the humble hear and be glad. Our praise will lift someone else out of despair. Someone is saying if he or she can still praise the with all what they are facing surely I can give God praise. I know I have a few testimonies in the house today that will say I don’t look like what I been through. I been catching hell but God has been there so i am not worried!
On this Thanksgiving I not only thankful for the turkey, dressing, greens, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese and cranberry sauce but I am thankful that I have a God on my side! I have so much more than food.. I have peace, joy, and love in my life. That’s why I have a non stop praise! Never ending praise! an uninterrupted praise! a continual praise!
So David invites us to join in with the non stop praise. He says Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together! we are to enlarge the Lord!
Let those who delight in my righteousness
shout for joy and be glad
and say evermore,
“Great is the LORD,
who delights in the welfare of his servant!”
and let us exalt his name together!
28  Then my tongue shall tell of your righteousness
and of your praise all the day long. (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
16  But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation
say continually, “Great is the LORD!” (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
I will praise the name of God with a song;
I will magnify him with thanksgiving. (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
Praise has a way of getting Gods attention. In the same psalm 69:31 the psalmist reminds us This will please the LORD more than an ox

or a bull with horns and hoofs. So your praise is better than any sacrifice. That Psalm continues When the humble see it they will be glad; you who seek God, let your hearts revive. 33  For the LORD hears the needy and does not despise his own people who are prisoners. 34  Let heaven and earth praise him, the seas and everything that moves in them. (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles. David breaths these out of his personal trials. How many of you had an elevated praise after you came through. David gives clear and compelling evidence on why we can trust the Lord and give him praise. He had seen God work on his behalf!.
you who seek God, let your hearts revive.
4  I sought the LORD, and he answered me
33  For the LORD hears the needy
and does not despise his own people who are prisoners.
and delivered me from all my fears.
5  Those who look to him are radiant,
34  Let heaven and earth praise him,
the seas and everything that moves in them.
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
6  This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him

and saved him out of all his troubles.
7  The angel of the LORD encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them. (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.

David said the Lord delivered him out of all his fears. There were some times in David life that he was afraid for his life. Yet David said the Lord delivered him. I am not sure if you feel the same way but we have a on time God who is our very present help in the time of trouble. What are you facing today. God will do it for you! David sought the Lord. Search him out! We know that when we seek out the Lord it says I trust you Lord. The Hebrew writer put it this way. 6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. (2016). (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
That’s why David reminds us our connection God will cause others to see us differently. Our anointing will shine through. The joy peace and love will come across. He will never cause us shame.
This thanksgiving we can taste and see that the Lord is Good! As the psalm said we should enter to his gates with Thanksgiving and into his courts with praise!
Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples!
2  Sing to him, sing praises to him;
tell of all his wondrous works!
3  Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles. Praise the LORD!
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever! (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever!
2  Let the redeemed of the LORD say so!!!
