Jesus is the true vine
v. (1), (4-5) pronouncement; that Jesus is the true vine. Israel was considered the vine in the Old Testament by several verses. Look at . Israel was planted by a pure seed but has defiled the seed to become wild. Remember all of the stories in the OT. Israel would run off to Worldly desires and passions that would defile the pure seed in them. God the Father had already started a new plan from the beginning. It is to bring in others to the Kingdom
v. (3) We are made clean by the Word of God. Jesus was speaking to the Disciples during this time awaiting His arrest. We are made clean through the Word of God to bear much fruit.
v. (13) To allow spiritual worship through Christ. Christ fulfilled the law, and lived as an example for us to follow.

v. (1) The Father is the Husbandman. The creator and caretaker of the field, His creation. The Father creates, cultivates, and cares for His field and expects much fruit from His vineyard.
v. (2),(6) The Father cuts off dead and useless branches that are not apart from His Kingdom. There are many who sit in the Sanctuaries of our Churches around the World who has the head knowledge but has yet to make a decision in their heart to be a follower of the way.
What is the distance between Heaven and Hell?
It is said that there is 18” that separates people from Heaven and Hell. That is the distance from your brain to your heart. We acknowledge the Gospel with our brain and sort out the implications. If the Holy Spirit allows us to transfer the Gospel to our hearts, we become Children of God!
v. (2)The Father prunes the branches for more growth loaded with more fruit. (Example) A large branch stemming from the vine is still a a part of the Kingdom. However, the Father wants fruit not long fruitless branches.

V. (7) Abide in the Word. We see in v. (3) that the Disciples were already made clean through the Word of God. We are made clean through regeneration (accepting Jesus as our personal Savior)
v. (8) Bear fruit.
v. (9-10) Abide in His love.
v. (11) abide in His joy, and is made full.
v. (12-13) Love your Neighbor.
v. (14) we are called friends IF we obey
