Gods Grace
Gods Grace
the staple of the subject of the Bible
the consistent theme that we see all through out the bible
So what is grace
websters dictionary defines Grace as unmerited divine assistance given to humans for their regeneration or sanctification
that it is a virtue that is coming from God
And that is it exactly
grace is favor, blessing and kindness of God
the greek word for that is charis
the grace of God
And to the human mind, it is the fact that as we look and practice grace is it is a common word or action
bit with the mind of christ, as phillipians 2:5,
it is then that we allow God to be the author and this action is connected to the Father, than it takes on a whole another meaning
a more powerful meaning
and numerously in the bible, the father shows his grace
however I love the OT and the journey of the Israelites because in my opinion, no other story shows his love and his grace more than he did to the Israelites over and over again through their exodus from Egyptian bondage
the book of ex is pretty much the ploy and adventure of the israelites freedom and the journeys that they endured during the process.
And in every area of these chapters you see God grace and his love and patience.
From their initial freedom to there journey into the promise land
and during these travels you see Gods grace
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
see by grace we are saved
and the only way that any of us enter into such a relationship is through Jesus and his grace towards us
and here we begin to learn that without God that that grace that we seek is nulinvoid and is unavailable
see by grace we are saved
and the only way that any of us enter into such a relationship is through Jesus and his grace towards us
and it is this grace that is and was represented and became noticable in the OT when adam and eve needed to be covered and God killed a an animal to cover their sins.
he didn’t destroy them
and as the creator he had that choice and the right to do so
But instead he made a way for them
and this pattern remained and continues through out the OT
here we see the introduction to blood sacrifices that were wildly practiced through out the OT
and it wasnt the physical representation of the blood
but it was the faith of man in which they offered these sacrifices
thus the act of the blood represented the act of Gods grace upon his creation; his people
And it is throughout the bible that God shows both grace and mercy
But the part that grabbed me the most as i read the bible was the consuming fire of the Lord Jesus Christ
Consuming fire
the websters dictionary defines a consuming fire simply as by being consumed by fire
which in retrospect is correct
it is duet. 4:24 that first identifies God as a consuming fire
and it is in this passage in which the author is telling the Hebrews to worship god with reverence and awe
And it is as you begin to look farther into the consuming fire of God that utterly consumes or destroys.
And that is the father,
that is your creator
he is a consuming fire in which it is that fire that prepares the way for you
for it is that each step that you take is ordered by the lord
ex. 12:21 states that he went before the israelites as a cloud by day and a fire by night
the pillar of the cloud ws to guide them in the way that he wanted
while the pillar of fire was to lead them at night
that he was the consuming fire that cleared the path as he made their way
and what the pillar was to them was not just a light but a protection and a comfort to them during their journey
it was a testimony no to just them but also to other nations concerning Gods involvement with a his people
his jealous, anger, love, and holiness towards his poeple
and so we think that as things get harder and harder that maybe he has forgotten about us
or that maybe he has given up on us
but that is just not true, but the fact is that he has cleared the path for you and that is what we have to trust
that every step that we take, that that consuming fire has cleared our path and that he is not going to allow anything that is going to impede or stop his plan from manifesting
for if he is for you than how many can be against him
But the key is that he wants us to be his
100% his
not 85 percent his and 15 percent the worlds
but the fact is that he wants our undevided attention
ie. my kids
he is the creator of his children and as a father he wants our love and attention to be his and towards him
I believe he once said that if he would rather we be cold than luke warm or he would spew us out of his mouth
thus you must understand that he is a jealous god
and if you are giving your attention to another than he gets upset
and then we see God the judge as a consuming fire
remember when aaron and his sons were destoryd by fire because they offered a second choice, a profane offereing in the tabernacle?
This was a sign of their disregard for the utter holiness of God and the need to honor Him in solemn and holy fear.
And when we fall out of righteousness and fall into sin
to do such is total disregard and disrespect to our creator
and then rememer elijah and the prophets of baal when the he asked God to rain down fire and judged the prophets of Baal?
do you realize that as the voice piece for God that judgement is upon you to be a judge within the earth
well that is a message for another time and place
and there were so many more?
where these acts showed but the judge and holiness of your creator
where these acts showed but the judge and holiness of your creator
and it is these things that are the things that make up the consuming fire
it is these characteristics that make god god
and so you must understand that is this holiness that can not reside within anything holy and thus eradicates anything unholy
So adam sinned and he surrendered the kingdom
and so it was than that god used those characteristics and instilled them in his children to continue and renact his initial plan
and it was within that time that he sent his son
someone that was without sin to become sin in the world to exchange his perfect righteousness for our sin
to cancel or debt
he he shows grace and mercy
and so that so that those who belong to Him would not have to suffer the same fate
eradicating all sin as those that are in him do not have to be in fear of the consuming fire.
but see he goes well beyond that.
i mean he is God
our cretor
but within this one act he shows and offers forgiveness
reconciliation
abundant and eternal life
his holy spirit
a home with him
I mean, that is God
see what Grace is is God giving the greatest treasure ever to those undeserving
The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
