Thanks Giving 2019 Service

It is the changing work of the Holy Spirit that leads us to a changed life:

It also leads us to Worship
Joy
thanksgiving
submission
We also find this in

Today I want us to celebrate all we have to be thankful for.

I want us to worship
I want us to sing out to the Lord
I want us to think back on all God has done in our lives
(NKJV): A Psalm of Thanksgiving. 1 Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. 3 Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.

Today I want us to:

Share what God has done in our lives together.
With that let me read to you a verse:
(NKJV)
(NKJV) 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
How do we overcome the accusations of Satan
First we need to remember they are true
We are that not good -but if not for Jesus.
It was His sacrifice that made us clean
We are hopeless without Him
We cannot think we are good for that is a lie in and of it self.
It is by His blood that we overcome
We will talk about this more in a moment
By our testimony
This is where I want to spend our time today.
It is when we remember the experiences we have in Him that reminds us that He has overcome Satan.
It reminds us God will always be faithful as He always has
says this: “Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.”
To know God, as we read here in verse three, is to know God through experience.
How do we know God will love us, yes He saved us, but experiences reminds us His love is real
It reminds us that He will continue to love us and carry us through all things
We know the Word says He will never leave us nor forsake us
Yet it is the experiences that reminds us that HE IS GOD.
Ant this is true

Today let’s overcome the lies of the Devil and we share what God has been doing in us.

Let us by the word of our testimony overcome Him
Revelation 3. A Joyful Declaration in Heaven (10–12)

“these saints used the doctrine of atonement not as a pillow to rest their weariness, but as a weapon to subdue their sin.” (Spurgeon)

Revelation 3. A Joyful Declaration in Heaven (10–12)

“First, you are to regard Satan this day as being already literally and truly overcome through the death of the Lord Jesus. Satan is already a vanquished enemy. By faith grasp your Lord’s victory as your own, since he triumphed in your nature and on your behalf … Come, my soul, thou hast conquered Satan by thy Lord’s victory. Wilt thou not be brave enough to fight a vanquished foe, and trample down the enemy whom thy Lord has already thrust down? Thou needest not be afraid, but say, ‘Thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.’ ” (Spurgeon)

Communion

Revelation 12:11 NKJV
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Revelation
The other way we will overcome the lies of the Satan is by the Blood of the Lamb.
His sacrifice is what saves us and today we also celebrate that as well
: And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.
Each of us are sinners.
I know a lot of us know that
Yet Satan is the accuser of the brethren
>10
Revelation 12:10 NKJV
Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
He makes us to feel a guilt that is not of God
Yet that is all overcome by the power of the blood of Jesus
Romans 8:1 NKJV
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Romans
In Christ we are not condemned
We are set free by His Spirit.
The conviction leads us to repentance
That is how we overcome the sin in our life
It is not by any work
Punishment
Avoidance of sin
Life
It is by His sacrifice
None of us can give that sacrifice
we are not able to stand before God in sacrifice
God knew that
That is why He sent His Son
That is the only perfect life
It was His life that allows us to live free in Him
He was willing to take our punishment
The Blood of Christ
It is not the physical blood
It is a symbol
Of what really happened on the cross
It is not just believing
Or the demons would be saved
: You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!
It is not the action
We are not saved by works
But by faith For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
It is the acceptance of Him as our Savior
That is the faith
That is the heart that says I am Yours
I accept I am a sinner
I accept I am in need of you
I surrender all to you
Let us give thanks to our Lord as we accept His sacrifice for our sin
And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.
