11 o’clock English Service The speaker at our morning service is Major (ret’d) Iain Alastair Macdonald who is Scotland Area Representative of SASRA .( Soldier’s and Airmens’ Scripture Readers Association) . We welcome Iain to Ness once again and look forward to hearing him share from God’s word and report of the work God is doing through SASRA. Psalm 122 ‘ I joy’d when to the House of God ‘ Prayer & Young People’s talk Bible Reading Romans 6: 15-23 (ESV) Slaves to Righteousness 15 What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! 16 Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, 18 and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. 19 I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification. 20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Report of Work and Sermon Psalm 130 ‘ Lord from the depths to thee I cried ‘ There is No Gaelic service today 3.30 PM Sunday school in the Church hall Please Remember that the Sunday School outing this year will take place ( DV ) on Saturday 1st June. 6 PM Evening English service To be a Pilgrim (Part 3) ( the Feast of Tabernacles ) Deuteronomy 16: 9-12 John 7:37-38 Living Water The Feast of Tabernacles was the third of the Great Pilgrim festivals of the Hebrews. This festival commemorated the 40 years the children of Israel spent living in makeshift booths or shelters in the desert. It was at the feast of Tabernacles that Jesus declared "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." . Worthy of all praise - Praise and Prayer Night On Sunday evening 19th May we will have a time of praise and worship after the evening service to which all are invited. As many will be aware on Monday 20th May the General Assembly will be debating the report of the Theological Commission on Same Sex Marriage and the ministry. This is a crucial debate for the future health and direction of the whole church and our own congregation included. At such a time as this though our focus has to be on the Lord Jesus Christ the one who alone is the King and Head of the Church and who is worthy of all praise. And so we invite EVERYONE to come and join us in a time of praise and worship in waiting on the Lord . We know that when God is worshipped He does not change but we do !
