Acts 2 1- 4 ( NIV UK) When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. NEP 27 ' Be still for the presence of the Lord ' Sermon ‘When God comes ‘ Today is remembered as Pentecost Sunday . The day when God the Holy Spirit came upon the gathered disciples. As many will be aware tomorrow the General Assembly will be debating the report of the Theological Commission . This is a crucial debate for the future health and direction of the whole church and our own congregation included. At such a time as this though our focus has to be on the Lord Jesus Christ the one who alone is the King and Head of the Church and who is worthy of all praise. And so we invite EVERYONE to come and join us in a time of praise and worship in waiting on the Lord . We know that when God is worshipped He does not change but we do !
