The Prodigal Son shows us a picture of true peace; of a father who accepts his wayward son back without anger, without retribution, and without scolding. So also, in Jesus, God accepts us as the father of the prodigal, and we find peace, not just in eternity, but here and now. For all of those who feel alienated or outcast, this is good news, rooted in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
