Bible Reading Ephesians 3:1-13 ( NIV)
I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through
the working of his power. Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s
people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless
riches of Christ, and to make plain to everyone the administration of this
mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.
His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God
should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our
Lord. In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom
and confidence. I ask you, therefore, not to be discouraged because of my
sufferings for you, which are your glory.
(1 John 2:1-6 NIV)
1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if
anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the
Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for
ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4
Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar,
and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for
God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him:6
Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
