Following Jesus and worshipping the true God is profoundly different than the world's practices and priorities. We serve a God who is better, higher, more pure and glorious than the things the world pursues. As Christians, we are called to point people to God, to help them "look up" to God's holy mountain. There, God serves as a judge, but a different sort of judge. He is a judge who loves us and offers a way out of our mess. As the world around us swirls out of control and people are desperate in their disappointment and wrecked dreams, we can share the answers we have found in God. We preach a message of peace, not war. We can share the peace that we have found, bringing it from God above down into the valley.
