3 ways of Living Vicariously
3 ways of Living Vicariously
Miriam Webster Definition:
1. experienced or realized through imaginative or sympathetic participation in the experience of another
2. The oldest meaning of "vicarious," which was first recorded in 1637, is "serving in someone or something’s stead
Living your dreams and ambitions through someone else. IE through your children or a coworker or friend.
Living as if you were someone else. IE when someone poses as someone else through social media to mislead others as to who they truly are.
Living a life of substitution. IE when you deserve the wrath of God but instead walk in grace because of the work that Christ has done for you at the cross.
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
GAlatians 2:20-
21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:
6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
