Why In Such A Hurry?

It seems we are always in a hurry
Not about an escape - a way carry it all
“Hurry is the great enemy of the Spiritual Life” Dallas Willard
Matthew 11:28–30 CSB
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
MAtthew 11:28-30
Hurry is the Enemy of Love
Love is the of the highest value in God’s economy
Love takes time, it is not a quick thing.-
It is a command and necessary for faith
John 13
John 13:34–35 CSB
“I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Hurry is the Enemy of Joy
Joy is - Present in the moment a present
We get so focused on what is next we miss what is now
Trust Jesus with Future is easy - how bout today
John 16:19–24 CSB
Jesus knew they wanted to ask him, and so he said to them, “Are you asking one another about what I said, ‘A little while and you will not see me; again a little while and you will see me’? Truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice. You will become sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn to joy. When a woman is in labor, she has pain because her time has come. But when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the suffering because of the joy that a person has been born into the world. So you also have sorrow now. But I will see you again. Your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy from you. “In that day you will not ask me anything. Truly I tell you, anything you ask the Father in my name, he will give you. Until now you have asked for nothing in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.
John 16:19-24
: 19-24
Hurry in the Enemy of Peace
We are all going so fast
We think slow is bad - not as smart or capable
Slow is good - we don’t need it all now
: 22-26
John
John 14:27 CSB
“Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Don’t let your heart be troubled or fearful.
