I. Jesus Christ is the Word -
*Similar to - “In the beginning”
*He is the Message or News - “the Word”
a. Jesus Christ is God Eternal. - v. 1-3
He, Himself, is the One who created all things and is therefore, the Creator.
He rules over His own creation and is therefore, the Ruler.
*Important verses that clearly communicate “the Word” is referring to Jesus Christ , , ,

i. All people have a “light”, or knowledge, of God. (Created in God’s own image )

*Because of all people have been tainted by sin after the Fall of Man, all have a darkened and useless knowledge of God. A knowledge that cannot save them from their sin and damned state. (An acknowledgement of God versus a personal relationship with God)
II. God sends the True Light -

III. Conclusion
The truth behind why we celebrate Christmas is this - that God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ the Savior of the World, into the world as a man to save us from our sin. The infant born of a virgin in a manger in the Bethlehem, would eventually suffer, die on a cross, and rise again to grant us forgiveness and eternal life with God forever.
