The Situation

Sometimes we end up in situations when things just don’t look good
The situations don’t look favorable
We aren’t certain it’s gonna work out or that we are gonna be able to make it
I recently heard a great illustration presented by a great preacher - What if the Lego’s we have don’t look like what’s on the picture on the box?
Image of Millenium Falcon
What do we do???

How did we get here if we are following Jesus?

Disclaimer: If we aren’t following Jesus, and we are in a pinch, chances are we need to get Jesus to be with us and help us to get out of the pinch we put ourself in.
Psalm 23:1–4 NKJV
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Jesus (THE Good Shepherd) will lead us where He knows it is right for us to be.
Pro Tip: Right for YOU may not be right for ANYONE ELSE -
We cannot wisely compare someone else’s journey, process, or destination with our own.

What Should We Do in These Times

Ezekiel 37:1–10 NKJV
1 The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. 3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.” 4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6 I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ” 7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them. 9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’ ” 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

1) Get God’s perspective

I know what it looks like to me, but what does it look like to You, God???
“God, You know.” is a powerful confession.
It is admitting the superiority and omniscience of God concerning our personal life.
Isaiah 46:9–10 NKJV
9 Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’
Ask God to let you see the way He sees
*Quick anecdote of Hunter not being able to see past what she saw (can be lack of experience) - Where Pastor Mike easily sees what is possible
It is admitting the superiority and omniscience of God concerning our personal life.
Psalm 119:130 AMP
130 The entrance and unfolding of Your words give light; their unfolding gives understanding (discernment and comprehension) to the simple.
ps 199.130

2) Trust God

We have to trust the counsel of God & that He knows best
proverbs 3.5-6
Proverbs 3:5–6 NKJV
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Proverbs 3:5 NKJV
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
Proverbs 4:5 NKJV
5 Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
Romans 4:16–22 NKJV
16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
Trust helps us to be certain in uncertain times
Trust comes from character & from personal experience with that character
Many times people feel that God let them down because they didn’t get what they wanted
God gives us what HE wants for us -
When we want what HE wants for us, we will not be disappointed.

3) Be Obedient

The only person that can stop the will of God in your life is YOU!
Numbers 13:33 NKJV
33 There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”
Hebrews 3:19 NKJV
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Works without faith is sin (a.k.a - Dead Works) ()
Faith without works is dead ()
Act upon your faith & do what God says to do
The greatest way to put your faith to work is by doing something God-inspired:
Speaking
Prophesying
Praying
Giving
If God says it will work, It will work!!!
Romans 8:31 NKJV
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Just One Thing:

If God says yes (& you agree, trust & obey), it doesn’t matter who says No!
Go to God - He knows!!!
