Do You Have Room For Jesus?
Do You Have Room For Jesus?
I was really struggling this week on what to preach, I had a topic and I worked and worked on it. I guess God didn’t want me to preach that message even thou, I wanted too. It’s kind of funny when you work on a sermon, and if God is not in it. It will never form.
I prayed God what do you want me to preach? Please give me something time is running short. Then I was reading Facebook, while setting in a tub of hot water relaxing.
I came across a post that Julie forward, then something hit me like a ton of bricks. Julie post a message that said, “Each of us is an Innkeeper who decides if there is room for Jesus.” That saying just touch my heart, because it was so, real to me.
Even Born Again Christians don’t have room for Jesus.
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Beth-lehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
According to the Scriptures when Jesus was born, There was no room for Him in the Inn. He had to be born in a manger.
This mourning, I’m not preaching a Christmas Sermon, I’m going to be doing that on our Christmas Services in a couple of weeks.
The morning my sermon deals with the now and the post that Julie posted yesterday. It touch my heart and it is my hope it will touch yours.
“Each of us is an Innkeeper, who decides if there is room for Jesus.”
There are only two reasons I can think of why there is not any room for Jesus in your life.
You don’t know Him as your personal savour.
You a born again Christian, and you are just to busy with other things to make room for Jesus.
This is December, the month we celebrate Christmas.
If you haven’t notice by now the first part of the word Christmas is CHRIST.
Oh, how we forget, some even substitute Christ for a X to make Xmas.
It so, sad how people don’t make room for Jesus Christ anymore.
Now we don’t know for sure if Jesus was really born on Christmas day or not. It really doesn't matter.
What matter is that Jesus was born, and of a virgin.
He came to fulfill the promise of
Gen
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
The prophecies of Isaiah.
Isaiah
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, And shall call his name Immanuel.
I
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Let’s look at what the Book of John says,
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1
Gal
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
God sent His Son as a gift to the World.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
I. Jesus is the only man born from a women who never sinned.
I. Jesus is the only man born from a women who never sinned.
This is a Biblical fact.
Because Jesus was born of God and was God. He was able to:
Heal the sick.
Able to lift up when you are down.
Able to give sight to the blind.
Able to make the deaf hear again.
Able to make the cripple walk
Able to calm the sea storm.
He walked on water.
He gave life back to the dead.
He was able to feed 5,000 with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread.
He’s able to save us to the utmost, and give salvation.
II. We need to make room for Jesus now!
II. We need to make room for Jesus now!
Time is running short, and we Christians are not doing our job telling others about Jesus.
We are all closing the door of our hearts.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Revelation 3:20
This is what happens when you let Jesus in your heart.
When you make room for Jesus, you will have peace.
When yo make room for Jesus, you will have joy.
When you make room for Jesus, you will have everlasting love.
When you make room for Jesus, you will have mercy.
When you make room for Jesus, you will have victory.
When you make room for Jesus, you will have eternal life.
When you make room for Jesus, you will have Salvation.
When you make room for Jesus don’t just do it part time, only on holidays, or when you just need something.
Make room for Jesus everyday of the week, and for now on.
Monday make room for Jesus
Tuesday make room for Jesus
Wednesday make room for Jesus
Thursday make room for Jesus
Friday make room for Jesus
Saturday make room for Jesus
Then on Sunday, when you come into this place of Worship, make room for Jesus by making a joyful noise of praise unto His name, because He is the Reason for the Season, and He is worthy to be praised!
