Go in PEACE!
Intro:
This is a Word for everybody who feels drained.......(slightly pause)
.......and sometimes you can be drained and nothing is working
(pause)
And......
Sometimes when things are not in harmony in our lives...
…and we are experiencing this level of fatigue
....... it is because everything entering into our lives.....
..........lacks the POWER to COMPLETE or CREATE wholness in us!
(pause)
And instead of COMPLETION.....
.........everything is COMPETING to see how much can be taken or subtracted out of the life to eliminate PEACE!
(pause)
And.....
Sometimes the heart cries for.......................PEACE!
But it seems like NOBODY is listening!
(pause)
.....I wonder if there is anybody in here that has ever needed Peace but couldn’t call NOBODY!!!
(pause and expound)
And sometimes....
It’s not just about a call...................
...............but sometimes its about a TOUCH!
SOMETIMES......
........we have to get desperate enough to move toward the POWER that’s ready to come into our lives!
(pause and shift)
Look at it now......
Peace = Shalom
Means completeness, soundness, well being.
When one is in harmony or experiencing completeness......
Biblical barrels:
Philippians 4.7
(pause)
Matthew
And just as the disciples in the boat needed Jesus to wake up and come over and calm the storm.
Because......
.....that it has not always been popular to be a Christian.........
History records how the Church went through much persecution in its early years......
(pause)
We also need Jesus to complete some things in our lives that will calm the storms.
And while........
School shootings
HIV/Aids epidemic
Human Sex trafficking
We have not experienced the antonyms of peace so much so corporately as the Church........
There is absolutely no question that our world needs PEACE today!
And if Peace is going to be realized, it is going to have to be because of the Church affecting the Community through Jesus Christ!
(pause and expound)
Jesus said in ....
“and Greater works than these shall you do, because I am going to my Father!”
.......I do believe that there are some points of relevancy in the lives that we live out each and every day.
(pause)
And in the Gospel of see something helpful in the life of this woman whose sickness is keeping her from experiencing peace....
(pause)
And so in order to fully understand Peace......
.......I want to first deal with “Anticipation”
Anticipation - Is the action of expectation
And.....
I believe that the reason our lives are tilted into such irregular positions......
......is because our expectation(s) are under attack!
Because if anybody can get you and I to stop expecting....
.......we will miss what’s COMING!
(pause)
Have you ever thought something was coming in your direction......?
......and you were looking for it
..........but something distracted you
..........or for whatever reason you stopped looking for it
And....
......as soon as you stopped looking
.......you MISSED IT!
(pause and expound on that feeling)
And according to this scripture in Philippians.....Paul says,
We should be waiting or watching even if we have to stretch our necks out to see everything we can see!
“with EAGER EXPECTATION!”
(pause)
And in todays text that’s what we see....
.......is this woman’s anticipation in Luke’s Gospel.

This womans anticipation of her healing -
The bible says....
....that her suffering or being incomplete lasted for 12 years
......and right in the middle of her SUFFERING she finds Jesus!
(pause)
And...
Jesus is approaching her life in a way that he is close enough for her to get to him........
.........and its exactly what she NEEDS at this very moment!
(pause)
Key question -
How do we know she anticipated her healing?
The bible says.....
“She came up behind him..........and touched the fringe of his clothes.”
This started me to thinking........
...................because true anticipation should cause movement!
(pause)
Because if you really want something bad enough........
.........something ought to cause you to MOVE!
(pause)
And while Jesus is Coming into her company.......
.......it is still on her to make a MOVE!
And at the exact time that things are OUT OF ORDER in her life.......................
