Mighty God

Isaiah 9:6 NIV
6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Intro

To us a child is born -

As the wonderful counselor, his miracles and plans are far better than anything we can imagine. Let’s follow him.

As the Mighty God, he defeats enemies easily, let’s stop fighting our own wars.

As the Everlasting Father, he loves us perfectly. Let’s delight in his love.

As the Prince of Peace, he reconciles us to him while we are still enemies. Let’s welcome his rule over us.

1. Be still. He fights for you.

Exodus 14:13–14 NIV
13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

2. Live in peace. He overcomes the world.

John 16:33 NIV
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

3. Worship with Joy. He reigns over all.

6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
He rules the world with truth and grace And makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness And wonders of His love, and wonders of His love And wonders, wonders of His love.
Joy to the world, the Lord has come Let earth receive her King Let every heart prepare Him room And heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing And heaven, and heaven and nature sing.

Conclusion

Have you received Christ as King?
He rules the world with truth and grace And makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness And wonders of His love, and wonders of His love And wonders, wonders of His love.
he was born for more than the world, he was born for you.
Be still - you can’t earn eternal life by your own goodness.
Be at peace - as long as you try to run your own life, you are not at peace with God.
Let Christ reign in your heart by faith.
