The Kings Gifts - Peace
Plot Twist
The 6th Sense
Frozen
Jesus
We expect the King to come one way, but He comes differently.
He comes bringing gifts.
One of those gifts is peace.
Peace is a gift from the King
Isaiah 9:6
Jesus is the Prince of Peace
Jesus is the Prince of Peace
Christ’s peace belongs to his people (Those He favors)
Matthew 10:
Isn’t Jesus the Prince of Peace though?
What does Jesus mean He didn’t come to bring peace?
Rather the opposite?
Christ is divisive
Why?
Because truth is exclusive.
Jesus claims to be the Son of God.
He either is, or He is not.
Jesus claims to be the Messiah.
He either is, or He is not.
Jesus claims to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
He either is, or He is not.
The peace that come from Christ doesn’t promise conflict, war, or disputes will never happen, but in each of these, Christ’s peace can reign in us.
v. 34
In fact, not only does Jesus not come to eradicate all human conflict but he actually promises hostility
-Blomberg, Craig
How can we obtain the peace Christ offers?
How can we obtain the peace Christ offers?
Make Jesus the Lord of your Life
Is it the desire of your heart to love Christ, and know Him more?
Is it the desire of your heart to love Christ, and know Him more?
Matthew 7:21-
Invitation
Strange plot twist:
We get to trade hopelessness for the Hope of Christ
We get to trade in our worry, fear, and anxiety for His peace.
We get to trade our sorrow and bitterness for joy
We get to trade lust, and cheap imitations for true Love.
We get to trade the death we’ve earned in sin, for righteous LIFE in King Jesus.
