Six pictures of Jesus in

The Conquering Christ (11)

Rider on a white horse: Roman general would enter a conquered city on a white horse. Symbolic of conqueror.
Two aspects of the conqueror.
Faithful: He can be trusted to judge every enemy of God. What He said is going to happen.
True: as opposed to false. Perfect justice will be rendered.
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.” (, NKJV)
Jesus Christ will judge and make war upon the earth in righteousness.
Righteous war?
For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.” (, NKJV)
Reward or punishment, divine retribution
I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.” (, NKJV)

The Consuming Prince (12)

Eyes like fire
He sees all
He knows all
Nothing is hid from His knowledge
Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.” (, NKJV)
Many crowns
Royal rule (King)
Authority to rule the earth
Conqueror of all kingdoms and domains
Name only He knows (shall be revealed)
Identify, define, become
Names for Jesus Christ
Christ/Messiah
Son of God
Son of Man
Lord
The Word
Immanuel/God with us
Firstborn/Only Begotten
However, this is a new name
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (, NKJV)

Slaughtering Word of God (13)

Robe dipped in blood
Blood of God’s enemies, not redemptive blood.
“I have trodden the winepress alone, And from the peoples no one was with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger, And trampled them in My fury; Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, And I have stained all My robes.” (, NKJV)
He will conquer by His Word
The power of His Word
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (, NKJV)
The Word will be the vindicator of divine judgment. It will layout the case against God’s enemies. ()

Heavenly, Warring Leader (14)

Armies of heaven will follow behind Him.
Clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Same worn by the church at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. ()
All the redeemed!
And all the angels!
“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.” (, NKJV)
Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”” (, NKJV)

Fierce Conqueror (15)

His weapon: a sharp sword proceeding out of His mouth.
The power of the Word
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;” (, NKJV)
His rule: rules all the nations with a rod of iron.
You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”” (, NKJV)
He treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Do not mess with Jesus.
Chuck Norris

Sovereign King and Lord (16)

No one exist without His approval.
No one shall inherit the Kingdom of God without His approval.
Joshua met the Sovereign on the eve of attacking Jericho. ()
He appeared to the disciples after His resurrection and they were afraid because of His appearance. ()
Paul on the road to Damascus literally fell prostrate when the light of Christ overtook him. (Acts 9:1-9)
John fell at His feet as dead in )
The sheer awesomeness of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ will bring us to our knees.

Conclusion

Our blessed hope is in the return of Jesus Christ.
Christ second coming will be as a warrior ram not a docile lamb.
Opposing Christ will have catastrophic results. ()
This Christmas we look back to the docile lamb who was wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manager. And, we look forward to the conqueror who is coming again to set things right.
