We live in a world that is constantly trying to shape our identity. It tells us lies. It says things like: “You are what you have.” “You are what you do.” “You are what people think of you.” It shouts things such as: “You are no good; you are not enough; you haven’t done enough; you are nobody.”
The message of Christmas is that because Jesus came to earth, I too can be God’s beloved child.
Because Jesus came to earth, I too can hear the Father say, “You are my beloved child; with you I am well pleased.” If we trust Jesus, He gives us the right to become beloved children of God.
