Joshua: Faithful Servant
Introduction:
(1) Joshua’s name means “salvation.”
(2) He was the son of Nun and of the tribe of Ephraim (cf. Num. 13.8).
Discussion:
I. Faithful as a Servant
A. He is introduced as a servant to Moses during the war with the Amalekites (Exod. 17.8-13).
B. He was privileged to journey with Moses on Mt. Sinai (Exod. 24.12-13).
C. He was one of the 12 spies who spied out the Promised Land (Num. 32.12; Num. 13).
II. Faithful as a Leader
A. In Num. 27.18-23, he was commissioned to succeed Moses (Appointed – Dt. 31.1-8).
B. He led Israel across the Promised Land.
C. The key to his success:
1) Strong
2) Obedient
3) Knowledgeable
4) Fearless (Josh. 1.5-10)

Conclusion:
(1) Will you be faithful in the role that God has for you?
(2) If so, then you will be rewarded (Rev. 2.10).
