3 In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. 4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

During this time of year it’s so easy to get distracted from the reason for the season. For some, this time of year is super joyful. For some, this time of year if burdensome. For some, distractions creep in and steal the simplicity December’s holiday was meant to give.
ME
ME
As a 13 year old boy, Christmas was all about presents. The receiving of the gifts. I used to get depressed whenever our “last Christmas” for the year was over. Right? I meant that the receiving of the gifts was over. I used to go home from my last family gathering and go layout all the gifts I had recieved on my bed and let out a big happy sigh. So for me, Christmas was over when we got home from our last family gathering.
But during this time of year it’s so easy to get distracted from the reason for the season. For some, this time of year is super joyful. For some, this time of year if burdensome. For some, distractions creep in and steal the simplicity December’s holiday was meant to give.

When we celebrate Christmas, we celebrate the gift that has been offered that’s available to each one of us. The time when Jesus was born is a time that hope arrived. If we attempt to unwrap the story & meaning of Christmas, that’s all we see: hope.

4 fullness of time
God’s timing is always perfect.
The virgin birth in Bethlehem was always a part of the plan, not a new plan.
