Matthew 1:18–2:2 NKJV
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus. Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”

The Christmas story… the birth of Jesus
God spoke to Mary… to Joseph …
Because we know that God speaks...
They saw a star guiding them to Jesus…
3 points of Christmas to focus on...
1. His LIGHT...
I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.
I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.
That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
3 wise men saw a light a star and that light led them to a new revelation
They were not religious men but astrologers and they saw a prophetic truth come to pass ...
“I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob;
They had heard of it… and now could see with their own eyes… they read the prophecies and knew a King would arrive that would change everything
Light changes things… it reveals … illuminates… guides and leads
Jesus can change your life…reveal to you your wrongs can illuminate where you are and what is there and leads and guides you out or in...
While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
2. His LOVE
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
This verse displays not only God heart and desires but yet His actions to fulfill His action and desires
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
God does not wants us lost… He made a way… God doesn’t want us lied to…God doesn’t want us separated from Him…So He gave us life...
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
3. His LIFE
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Jesus is life… and He gave up His for you to have yours...
This is the greatest gift and the reason we share gifts as we demonstrate what we have recieved
Don’t lose the focus this Christmas… His LIGHT… His LOVE… His LIFE
