The Seeking to Worship

text find the wise men seeking Jesus. And truthfully that should be the sermon for today. “ A WISE MAN SEEKS JESUS.” Everybody should really understand how important it is to see Jesus, but why is it important for me to see Jesus.

There were 2 stereotypes of people that Jesus revealed himself to. In the book of Luke Chapter 2:8 the 1st revelation was given to a group of people known as shepherds by the Angels! Please don’t find it coincidental that God gives it to the shepherds first.

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

The thing that we need to ask ourselves is

Not only does the text show us the wise mens desire to see Jesus. But the text also show us the why

 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

They wanted to see Jesus to WORSHIP him! There are so many places in the text where worship is expected, Mary Worshiped with the oil from her alabaster box, when the boy that was possessed with Demons saw Jesus they worshiped, when he met the woman at the well, he told her something that we need not forget. says

King James Version Chapter 4

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. 25

Thats only half of the story , the other half of the story says: I am the way, the Truth, and the life.

Worship is an expectation! So the question is why are you looking for Jesus if you don’t want to worship there is a posture that is needed after you see Jesus. Worship. To many folk are coming top Jesus without an agenda. Im looking for jesus because I have an agenda! yes Im looking for Jesus because he is the object and the subject of my worship. To many times we come to worship without the plan to worship him.
