If your sons will keep My covenant And My testimony which I shall teach them, Their sons also shall sit upon your throne forevermore.”

How is Jesus the King FOR all? Can this King save anybody? Think about the genealogy of Christ. The genealogy of the King of the Universe. Abraham was a liar. Isaac lied like his dad and played favorites with his kids. Jacob carried the family tradition and acted deceitfully. Judah sought out a prostitute. Tamar deceived and slept with her father in law. Ruth came from an idolatrous people. David committed adultery and murder. Bathsheba was manipulated by the king for his pleasure. Solomon was a fornicator and idolator. Rehoboam was prideful. Abijah led Israel to worship false gods. Asa began to trust himself more than God. Jehosephat made a pact with the wicked. Joram rebelled against God. Uzzziah died of leprosy because of his pride. Jothan failed to lead Israel in worship of God. Ahaz burned and sacrificed children. Hezekiah was prideful. Manasseh worship Baal and burned children. Amon was a murderer and idolater. Josiah disobeyed God’s direction, and Jeconiah was a thief. This list reveals that Jesus came to save everybody. He came to save the liar, bad parents, the sexually immoral, the idolaters, the manipulated, the prideful, the wicked, the heathen, the disobedient, the thief. Jesus came for all sinners! You may ask what about the others. What about the good in this list. Yes, Boaz was viewed as a redeemer and Mary as the best among her peers. Yet, they still were sinners. They need Christ! Jesus came to even save the “good” from their sins. Jesus came to save all. Won’t you be saved today! Won’t you see that God can use you for His purpose and for His glory. God uses sinful people because that are the only kind. God saves the sinful. Cleanses the sinful. Redeems the sinful. This is the gift of Christmas!
for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
1 cor 6:9-
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
3. Jesus is the King above All. (v. 16)
3. Jesus is the King above All. (v. 16)
And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ.
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places,
far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,
which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
