1 Chronicles
Text:
1) True signs point to Jesus
1 Corinthians 1:22
there is not absolute surety about who the wise men are.
this is not the first time we see the Magi.
we see them first in the book of Daniel then later on but by the time we see them the word Magi simply means men of wisdom, hence “the wise men.”
even today, the supernatural is there to point back to Jesus and confirm what the Lord has already told you.
please don't seek the sign-If the Magi had simply sought a sign, once the star appeared, the would have checked the box and said, “been there done that got the T-shirt.
2) Worship is never neutral.
2saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews?
For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
3When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
worship is never neutral, the wise men came to worship, they made made no bones about why they where there.
4And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.
5So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet:
6‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’
7Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared.
Hared however, was scared.
he was scared because he was placed there by the Roman senate.
His fear was that a legitimate king would threaten His position.
8And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.”
Jesus is not concerned about earthly kingdoms, he is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
He does not need the consent of man He has the power of the most High God.
Remember “He was Born King of the Jews.”
Revelation 19:1
what Prophet?
Mica 5:2
The Bible is not a book of antiquity; it is God’s revelation of Himself to us.

Isaiah 40:8
2 Timothy
Psalm 119:10
3. Worship will cause your treasures to change.
Matthew 2:10-12
these “wise men” of great reputation in that part of the world; they didn’t see themselves as to bosshy to fall down and worship Him.
After having worshiped Him their treasures, seemed like nothing compared to Jesus Lord of all.
it leads me to this: are we worshiping if we wont open our treasure to him?
