What’s filling your life that keeps you from living fully?

What we fill our life with that
Full Schedules of activity
Full of opinions & expectations
Full of distractions
Full of shame & regret
Full of Stress, worry, & anxiety
Full of stuff & clutter
Full of empty entertainment
Full of comfort & convenience
Full of missed opportunities

How do hurry and busyness rob your capacity to love?

Love and hurry are oil and water: they simply do not mix. All of my worst moments as a husband and father, a neighbor or friend, are when I’m in a hurry—late for an appointment, behind on my unrealistic to-do list, trying to cram too much into my day. I ooze anger, tension, a critical nagging—the antitheses of love.

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Full of STRESS, MESS, & LESS

JOHN 10:10

JOHN 10:10a

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.

JOHN 6:63

63 The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. (2016). (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

WHAT DOES STEAL, KILL, & DESTROY LOOK LIKE IN OUR LIVES?

- Steal(Leave you feeling less)

Leave you with LESS: Joy, Hope, Confidence, Security, Contentment. Love, Compassion, Faith, Purpose

- Kill (Overwhelm you with stress)

Stress can LITERALLY kill you physically… and spiritually
Spiritually STRESS kills you by: keeping you distracted, disheartened, discouraged, dissatisfied, anxious, depressed, selfish, scared,

- Destroy (Make you regress)

Tear down & crush progress & growth in your life where you’re thriving

How is hurry and busyness robbing your capacity to love?

“Love and hurry are oil and water: they simply do not mix. JOHN 10:10b

ABUNDANTLY = PERISSOS

perissos
The New American Commentary: John 1–11 (1) Discourse on the Good Shepherd (10:1–18)

The Greek perisson means “that which goes way beyond necessity.”

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Will you fill your life trying to acquire abundance or abiding in it?

The Greek perisson means “exceedingly way more beyond what’s normal and necessary.”

?JOHN 6:63?

63 The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. (2016). (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.

Will you fill your life trying to acquire abundance or abiding in it?

17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.
19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

EPHESIANS 3:16-20

20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
63 The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
