GOD’S PAST FAITHFULNESS
GOD’S PAST FAITHFULNESS
Get out the half sheet of paper… Invite them to write down their thoughts as you talk.
How have you experienced God’s faithfulness in 2019?
Praise the Lord!
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever!
Who can utter the mighty deeds of the Lord,
or declare all his praise?
Blessed are they who observe justice,
who do righteousness at all times!
Psalm 106:
We say God is good. We’ve talked about his faithfulness to the nation of Israel, Mary, Zechariah, and others - BUT - How has God been good to you during this past year?
“Praise the Lord” - “hallelujah”
“Give Thanks”
HOW HAVE YOU EXPERIENCE GOD’S FAITHFULNESS IN 2019? - Give time for reflection while you go through the following...
“He is good”
How have you experienced his goodness?
How did God meet you in the bad times, those bad days, those difficult moments?
The dark nights of the souls
“His steadfast love endures forever”
How have you experienced his steadfast love this past year
How did he meet you when you felt unloved, insignificant, unworthy?
How did did God swallow you up in his divine embrace when you felt broken and alone.
“His mighty deeds”
Did you experience God’s power and might at work in an impossible situation?
How did you experience his providential hand at work around you?
“Who he is?” (declare all his praise)
What aspects of his character did you experience this year?

TIME OF SHARING… we will have a wireless mic, stand where you are… I’ll get us started…
Pastor - Adonai, The God who is in Charge
Sometimes as the Lead Pastor I believe the lie that I have to have all the answers, the best strategy, the perfect vision, amazing sermons, and so on and so forth...
God has continually reminded me that my job is to follow him BEFORE I try and lead anyone else. He is the one in charge - this is His church - His mission - and His name. He has simply invited me along for the work that he is doing?
This has brought both increased joy and peace in my life - because I know my shortcomings.
Father - Abba, God is Our Father
Significant transition for Kirsten and I in our parenting this year as the majority of our 6 kids are now adults and 2 have moved out.
Each new season of parenting brings joy and fears.
God has been incredibly faithful and good to our family
GOD’S FUTURE GRACE
GOD’S FUTURE GRACE
Where do you need to experience God’s grace in 2020?
Remember me, O Lord, when you show favor to your people;
help me when you save them,
that I may look upon the prosperity of your chosen ones,
that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation,
that I may glory with your inheritance.
When you look into the coming year, where do you feel the need for God’s grace? - REFLECT & WRITE as I speak
“Remember Me… when you show favor”
Where do you need God’s favor in 2020? When you consider work - family - friendships - children - spouses - parents, etc - where do you long for God’s favor?
“Help me… when you save others”
Though none of us know when an unexpected emergency may hit our families...
We are aware of aging grandparents and parents
Is your marriage currently hurting and you long for peace and restoration?
Are friendships currently rocky but you long for what once was?
Is there physical illnessness, mental illnesses - that cause you to cry out for help?
“Help my heart rejoice...”
Do you need God to help your heart feel again - affections for God
Has the hopelessness we see and hear in the news overshadowed the glorious truth that God is in charge. We are not lost. We are not without hope.
We are children of the King - but sometimes, we need to cry out - help my rejoice in these truths I know to be true but don’t always feel.
“Help my heart to grow in worship...”
Maybe 2019 you’ve felt spiritually stuck - in a rut - not only are your affections for God dull but time together with other believers - in his word - or in worship have felt empty.
It is good and right to ask God to bend our hearts to him.
It is good to ask him to help us rejoice and glory in him.

SINNERS NEED OF A SAVIOR
Reflection
Both we and our fathers have sinned;
we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness.
Psalm 10
Save us, O Lord our God,
and gather us from among the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name
and glory in your praise.
Psalm 106:
GOD SAVED US IN THE PERSON & WORK OF JESUS
God is Our Creator and King
We sinned, each one of us
Jesus lived, died, rose, and ascended
He is returning to Restore All Things
Confess Our Sins
It is appropriate for us to take some time before we share in the sacrament of communion to
Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord.
