Isaiah 63:7-9
I will recount the gracious deeds of
the Lord, the praiseworthy acts of
the Lord, because of all that the
Lord has done for us, and the great
favor to the house of Israel that he
has shown them according to his
mercy, according to the abundance
of his steadfast love.
Isaiah 63:7
For he said, “Surely they are my
people, children who will not deal
falsely”; and he became their
savior in all their distress.
Isaiah 63:8
It was no messenger or angel
but his presence that saved
them; in his love and in his pity he
redeemed them; he lifted them
up and carried them all the days
of old.
Isaiah 63:9
For he said,
“Surely they are my people,
children who will not deal falsely
Isaiah 63:8
Wash yourselves; make
yourselves clean; remove the evil
of your doings from before my
eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do
good; seek justice, rescue the
oppressed, defend the orphan,
plead for the widow
Isaiah 1:16-17
How this faithful city
has become unfaithful!
She that was full of justice,
righteousness lodged in her—
but now murderers! Your silver
has become dross, your wine is
mixed with water.
Isaiah 1:21-22
Your princes are rebels
and companions of thieves.
Everyone loves a bribe
and runs after gifts.
They do not defend the orphan,
and the widow’s cause does
not come before them.
Isaiah 1:23
For he said,
“Surely they are my people,
children who will not deal falsely
