Call to Worship
23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
24 Declare His glory among the nations,
His wonders among all peoples.
25 For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised;
He is also to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the Lord made the heavens.
27 Honor and majesty are before Him;
Strength and gladness are in His place.
28 Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
Give to the Lord glory and strength.
29 Give to the Lord the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come before Him.
Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
30 Tremble before Him, all the earth.
The world also is firmly established,
It shall not be moved.
31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
And let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
Offering
6 I will freely sacrifice to You;
I will praise Your name, O Lord, for it is good.
1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.
2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation! 3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, 4 though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so: 5 circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee; 6 concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. 16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.
Rejoice in the Lord.
Rejoice in the Lord.
1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.
The word Rejoice means to express joy or exalt the Lord
The word Rejoice means to express joy or exalt the Lord
5 Exalt the Lord our God,
And worship at His footstool—
He is holy.
9 Exalt the Lord our God,
And worship at His holy hill;
For the Lord our God is holy.
28 You are my God, and I will praise You;
You are my God, I will exalt You.
Dictionary of Bible Themes 8622 worship
The praise, adoration and reverence of God, both in public and private. It is a celebration of the worthiness of God, by which honour is given to his name.
This year should start with putting God in His proper place in our mind and in our hearts.
many (some would say all) of our spiritual Problems come from God not having the right perspective.
what are some things that we exalt above God?
Money (Job)
Relationships
status (reputation)
recreation
Family.
Sex
Identity
entertainment
comfort
Me time
when we put God in His proper place, then we have an grip on what to really be concerned about.
when we put God in His proper place then we come to understand who we are and where we are in the world.
we often put ourselves in the wrong place.
when you put God first all other things are able to be ordered.
there is no way we can put God higher than He already is but when we worship we calibrate our souls properly.

1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.
when the Apostle Paul says it is for your safety, it is because we need to here the same things over and over to make them part of who you are.
it was once said repetition is the mother of all learning. we need to here them over and over until we understand them and know them.
2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!
Paul here is specifically speaking of people who are trying to drag people back into Judaism and away from Jesus.
people today do not so much want to drag us into Judaism, they wanna drag people into a anonymous spirituality and a Generic God.
beware of manipulation of people who draw us away from Christ.
18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.
25 And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith,
17 Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.
have no confidence in the Flesh
have no confidence in the Flesh
3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,
here we see the Apostle Paul use a play on words. circumcision, was the starting point for Judaism. Our apostle that Christian circumcision, those that worship God in the spirit, Rejoice in Jesus Christ, and have no confidence in the flesh.
4 though I also might have confidence in the flesh.
If anyone is to have confidence in the flesh It is The Apostle Paul:
He was circumcised on the eighth day:
3 And on the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.
when the Apostle Paul gives his linage, He gives his tribe Benjamin. The Tribe of Benjamin stayed true to the Davidic covenant after the kingdom divided and was the tribe that Israels first King came from.
He was of the strictest sect of his day.
if you want proof of His zeal He persecuted the Church.
58 and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul.
20 And when the blood of Your martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by consenting to his death, and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him.’
when it comes to the Law as far as human Judgement can be rendered blameless.
But we are called in verse 3 to avoid the flesh.
3 For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,
