New Union Church of New Rochelle OPEN DOOR-Worship Experience Sunday, January 5, 2019 Dr. Reginald L. Hudson THEME: “20/20: Vision; Imagination; Open Mouth!” TOPIC: 20/20Vision: “I can SEE clearly N.O.W.!”-PT 1 VISION I I. Def: TWENTY (20)-Twenty symbolizes REDEMPTION. The Hebrew letter (KAPH), is a (PALM), an OPEN HAND, in Hebrew signifies GIVING FREELY with the PALM UP; or COVERING SIN 0r (Turn Away From Sin) with the PALM DOWN! A. It’s DECISION TIME on HOW we want to LIVE! Joshua 24:15 New King James Version (NKJV) 15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of [a]the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” 1 B. It’s DECISION TIME on HOW we want to GIVE! Luke 6:38 New King James Version (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Therefore, this SEASON called (20/20); is a SEASON of COLLECTIVE and PERSONAL choices. C. F.E.A.R. ‘BLURS’ Vision! FEARing EVERYthing AFFECTing REALity! Philippians 3:15-16 New King James Version (NKJV) 15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. 16 Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already [a]attained, let us walk by the same [b]rule, let us be of the same mind. Philippians 3:15-16 The Message (MSG) 15-16 So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it. 2 II. Since 2017, when we engaged our theme: The Year of MANIFESTATION! The outpouring of the HOLY SPIRIT in these LAST DAYS! Acts 2:17 New King James Version (NKJV) 17 ‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. This scripture in Acts is the FULFILLMENT of the scripture PROHESY of JOEL. Joel 2:25-31 New King James Version (NKJV) 25 “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming [a]locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. 26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. 27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. 3 God’s Spirit Poured Out 28 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. 30 “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. Many of us have had a BLESSED 2019, with its varying degrees of challenges. Others had CHALLENGES with varying degrees of blessings. Then there are some who EXPERIENCED the shaking, cracking or breaking of their FOUNDATION! It creates the QUESTION found in Psalms 11:3: Psalm 11:3 New King James Version (NKJV) 3 If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do? 4 The WORD of GOD, reminds to TRUST in HIM, and HE will never FORSAKE us! Proverbs 3:5-6 New King James Version (NKJV) 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall [a]direct your paths. Psalm 37:25 New King James Version (NKJV) 25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread. Psalm 30:5 New King James Version (NKJV) 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But [a]joy comes in the morning. So it goes back to the QUESTION: Psalm 11:3 New King James Version (NKJV) 3 If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do? 5 The Prophet Jeremiah, helps us out! Jeremiah 1:10 New King James Version (NKJV) 10 See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.” Remember, GOD our FATHER has not FORGOTTEN or GIVEN up on you! So it’s TIME to TEAR DOWN; ROOT UP and REBUILD! II. 20/20 is the YEAR, we SEE and DO! See the VISION CLEARLY and Do the WORK REQUIRED! The LORD gave me another REVELATION for 20/20, that is for us. The 1st-20: GOD’s VISION for our NUCF; the 2nd-20: Our personal Vision for our Lives. A. PURPOSING and POSITIONING (P.O.S.) Place of Strength. B. BLESSING requirements: Persistency, Consistency, and Maintenance. C. The OPEN DOOR, has OPENED the DOOR of DISCIPLESHIP! 6
