God not only wants you not to look back at your past, He wants you to not look back to what He has already done. He wants you to focus on "the new thing" that He is going to do.

Question

Does God want you to focus on your past? No
Luke 9:62 CSB
62 But Jesus said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”
God doesn’t want you to look back and focus on your past. The good or the bad. He doesn’t even want you to focus on your past sins.
Hebrews 8:12 CSB
12 For I will forgive their wrongdoing, and I will never again remember their sins.
How many hear have something in your past that God just did something amazing or maybe a miracle? All of us.
Do you know God doesn’t even want you to focus on what He has done in the past?

Isaiah 43:18 CSB
18 “Do not remember the past events, pay no attention to things of old.
Isaiah 43:18
If you look at the few verses leading up to this, you will see that the prophet is pointing out how God saved his people in the past. The great exodus.
Isaiah 43:19 CSB
19 Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.
Our future will involve God doing a new and creative thing that will far surpass anything accomplished in the past.
Don’t focus on the good old days. Be expectant of new wonderful days!
It doesn’t start at midnight. It starts right now.
